Accessibility Statement
A designer's website that is hard to use would be an unfortunate advertisement. This site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
01What we have done
The site was built to meet these standards from the start, not retrofitted:
- Every image carries alt text describing the space, not the filename.
- Text and background meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios throughout.
- The whole site is operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
- Interactive targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels on touch devices.
- Headings are properly ordered, form fields are properly labelled, and there is a skip-to-content link.
- Motion is limited, and is disabled entirely when your system requests reduced motion.
- Text never falls below 11 pixels, and the layout reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels wide.
02Known limitations
Portfolio photographs convey the character of a space in a way alt text can only approximate. Where an image carries information rather than atmosphere, we describe it in the caption as well.
03Telling us about a problem
If any part of this site is difficult to use, email jennifer@designmarc.com and say what happened and what you were using. We treat access barriers as defects, fix them on that basis, and will get you the same information another way in the meantime.
